Job Title:  Driver


Responsible for following driving routes and time schedules and loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and operating the delivery vehicle. Drivers must make sure food safety standards are respected, collecting payments, and reporting any vehicle mechanical problems, as well as other related functions as assigned.

Classification: Full-Time
Pay Rate: Open

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:


• For AM Shift: Must arrive punctually at 3:00AM in order to leave the warehouse no later than 6:00AM with assigned route
• For PM Shift: Must arrive punctually at 7:30AM in order to leave the warehouse with an assigned 9:30AM, 10:30AM, or 12:00PM route
• Maintain a clean, neat appearance by wearing a fresh uniform and hair restraint daily
• Must follow all driver safety procedures as included in driver manual
• Must pull product to be delivered for assigned route
• Ensure all items for each invoice on route have been pulled and check the quality of each
• Load and unload product on/off delivery transportation vehicles
• Efficiently deliver foodservice items utilizing a hand truck
• Count and verify all product individually before leaving the customer’s location
• Collaborate with manager or office to communicate customer concerns including product quality issues, shortages, discrepancies, etc.
• Obtain authorization for discounts from manager or office
• Communicate all invoice changes to the office immediately
• Collect money from customers and ensure customer signs off on invoices upon delivery
• Work in coordination with the office to ensure that customers get quality service and satisfaction
• Maintain paperwork accuracy (invoices, pick up and exchange tickets)
• Keep delivery service vehicle and delivery area clean and organized while adhering to principles of sanitation and safety
• Clean transportation vehicles upon return to the warehouse
• Check in with warehouse managers regarding all returned product
• Turn in all invoices to the Customer Service Department before shift end
• Assist Department supervisor on various projects as required
• If and when a mistake or process break down has been identified, immediately notify the supervisor and manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS


• Must possess clean driving record
• Must be able to continuously life 70lbs or more
• Experience with foodservice delivery, preferred
• Must be highly detail oriented and organized
• Must be able to understand organization priorities
• Must meet all delivery windows
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Ability to work effectively during times of organizational stress, ambiguity, and change
